A largely new Marketing team is being built and professionalized in which you will become an important player. This European headquarters team adds value for the local market teams by offering guidance on strategy, practical communication-, and activation-assets to localize, and tactical support where needed in execution so that markets can achieve optimal results. You get to help improve and monitor the quality of the company’s communication at all levels.
Your tasks and responsibilities
You are responsible for the translation of scientific studies and -articels into valuable creative content for consumers and healthcare professionals. You will work closely with your colleagues from the Science-, PR- and Marketing department at the head office of Yakult Europe in Almere. You are a key figure in the screening, selecting and processing of scientifically relevant information, and you are able to look at this and think from both sides: what about the latest science around health and bacteria? Is it most relevant and interesting and should more people know about? But also: what kind of arguments and statements will motivate people to change their behaviour, and is there sufficient scientific evidence to support these statements?
With these contributions you help shape the marketing policy and the implementation of projects, especially in the field of communication and activation. You play a central role, also in coordinating and directing activities and cooperation with your Science and Marketing colleagues in the countries. You monitor the quality of communication and assist in the training of new colleagues. In this position you will report to the Marketing Manager Europe. You will also regularly work closely together with the Science department on coordinating specific content and planning.

You are a communicative, proactive personality with a flexible attitude. You enjoy diving into scientific research. You have an affinity with nutrition and health, and you are eager to learn more about this. Additionally, you work accurately with an eye for detail. You are a team player in the Netherlands who is willing to help colleagues in the foreign Operating Companies achieve optimal results!
- You have completed a relevant WO/Master (and / or PhD), in a relevant scientific direction, such as Nutrition & Health, Biology, Biotechnology, Dietetics, etc
- You are fluent in English (Dutch or another European language is a plus)
- You have approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience, for example as a science journalist, spokesman or communication professional
- You have experience in understanding scientific research and the translation into relevant consumer insights
