MSD Animal Health Netherlands has been active in the Dutch veterinary-pharmaceutical market for many decades, originally known and grown large as Intervet. The essence of the company has always remained the same: MSD Animal Health stands for innovative solutions for improving animal health. Our vision is clear. From a strong research and knowledge base, we provide vaccines, pharmaceutical products, services and practical tools that improve animal health, protect public health, help improve the quality of coexistence between humans and pets, and ensure a sustainable and quality food supply.

MSD Netherlands
MSD Animal Health in the Netherlands has sites in Boxmeer and De Bilt. The Boxmeer site is the world’s largest location within the pharmaceutical industry when it comes to development and production of veterinary vaccines. Today, approximately 1,400 people work at MSD Animal Health in The Netherlands. One in eight people work in research and development and about half work within production and quality control. The remaining employees work within support departments and services. The sales organization for the Netherlands is also located in Boxmeer.

A large number of important vaccine development functions (research, development, production, quality control, logistics, marketing and sales) can be found at one location. Thanks to the enormous knowledge, skill and experience of its employees, MSD Animal Health in Boxmeer is a Center of Excellence.

The company regularly demonstrates how innovative it is. In 2015, for example, MSD Animal Health became the first company to market a combination vaccine against Circo and Mycoplasma infections in pigs. This is just one example of the company’s innovative strength and the excellent way of multidisciplinary cooperation between teams in the Netherlands and other sites from the international MSD Animal Health organization.
