In 1999, Hilton Food Group acquired the Albert Heijn Central Butchery in Zaandam. After the acquisition, this newly acquired subsidiary went by the name Hilton Meats Zaandam. In 2017, the name was changed to Hilton Foods Holland. Hilton Foods Holland has now successfully become Albert Heijn’s strategic partner for meat.
Hilton Foods Holland supplies packaged fresh meat to all Albert Heijn stores in the Netherlands. In addition, a large part of the vegetarian product range is packaged for Albert Heijn and filet americain is made. Hilton Foods Holland does not slaughter or bone.
The raw materials arrive at the reception department and are processed into packaged end products. The product is then distributed to the various distribution centers for distribution to all Albert Heijn stores throughout the Netherlands. Hilton Foods Holland now employs more than 350 permanent employees.
In Zaandam, meat is portioned and packaged in a state-of-the-art manner using the latest techniques. The organization is characterized by an open atmosphere in which training and improving processes, with the aim of guaranteeing and increasing quality and efficiency, are central. The past few years have been very successful. The volume and assortment have grown enormously.
