The technology takes advantage of people’s tendency to charge through the floor as they move and interact in the space around them. After graduating, Ed started working as a consultant, in a small starting department within the multinational SGS. After a few years, Ed moved to Philips, where, with a small break of 3 years, he already has 14 years of service in various roles. Ed Huibers is now responsible for business development Philips Lighting but was at the cradle of the innovation Luminous Carpets. He sees himself as an entrepreneur within Philips and from that mentality he came up with this innovation together with a multidisciplinary team. An innovation where customer insight, new revenue models and marketing strategy come together.
