The Position
As an External & Internal Communications Specialist, you are part of the Corporate Communications Department (which consists of four team members, including this role) at Yakult’s European headquarters in Almere. You collaborate closely with colleagues from HR, Marketing, Science, Public Affairs, and other departments to create compelling stories that resonate with both internal and external audiences.
Your work plays a vital role in positioning Yakult as a science-driven pioneer and a trusted brand. By translating complex ideas into clear and engaging communications, you help build strong connections across teams and with stakeholders throughout Europe.
In this role, you contribute to strengthening Yakult’s reputation by delivering impactful, high-quality communication aligned with the company’s strategy and values. Whether it’s organizing corporate events, driving public relations activations, managing internal campaigns, or supporting crisis communication, your efforts enhance Yakult’s visibility, credibility, and employee engagement across Europe.
Responsibilities
External Communications & Thought Leadership
- Organise corporate events and visits that reinforce Yakult’s footprint in local and European markets.
- Lead PR activations that connect Yakult’s scientific credibility to consumer relevance in support of Marketing&Sales.
- Manage and grow Yakult Europe’s LinkedIn channel with engaging, relevant content.
- Create content that positions Yakult as a pioneer in probiotics and science-based innovation.
- Coordinate with country teams (OpCos) to adapt and align messaging across markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and event sponsors.
Internal Communications
- Translate key messages into inspiring and accessible communication for employees.
- Support HR and leadership in embedding company values through internal storytelling and campaigns.
- Develop and manage content for internal channels such as the intranet, newsletters, events, and videos.
- Coordinate and deliver employee engagement activities, including workshops and internal events.
Crisis & Issues Communication
- Support crisis preparedness and response with timely and consistent messaging.
- Maintain and update Q&A documents, key messages, and communication toolkits.
- Coordinate with agencies on simulations and training.
- Align with internal departments to ensure coherence in issue management communication.
About You
- 3–5 years of solid experience in corporate communications, public relations or employee engagement.
- A skilled and adaptable writer with a keen editorial eye and the ability to adjust tone and style for various contexts.
- Experienced in managing social media platforms, with a strong focus on LinkedIn.
- Passionate about emerging technologies – particularly artificial intelligence – and their role in advancing communication strategies.
- Organised and strategic, with a talent for crafting impactful messages tailored to diverse audiences.
- Knowledgeable in reputation management and adept at handling crisis communication.
- A collaborative and persuasive communicator, capable of driving alignment without formal authority.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects and stakeholders with ease.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
